Health Care Workforce Influenza Vaccination Uptake Project

The project was coordinated as a collaborative management process between the St. Louis County Health Department (DOH) and the Heartland Center for Public Health Preparedness (HCP). The project goals were to develop and complete a survey of St. Louis region non-hospital health care workers and to form recommendations for an influenza education campaign based on lessons learned from the survey data collected. The project goals were expanded to also include improvement of health care leadership support in the St. Louis region for implementation of needed vaccine education campaigns during the 2011-2012 influenza season. Improving health care leadership support in the St. Louis region was to be achieved through design and implementation of an organizational influenza vaccination campaign framework and invitation to participate in the Campaign “Kick-Off” Summit.
