HETC | EDUCATION & TRAINING

A primary goal of the Heartland Education and Training Center (HETC) is to develop and implement competency-based education and training programs and products to meet public health workforce assessed needs. The HETC utilizes a comprehensive, competency-based approach to public health workforce development through:

  • Workforce needs assessment
  • Curriculum development
  • Post-program evaluation

Workforce from multi-sectors, multi-disciplines and multi-jurisdictions are provided improved and sustained access to programs and exercises (onsite and technology mediated formats). The Heartland Center Learning Management System houses and tracks online education and training programs. For a complete listing of the programs available, click here.

For information regarding current onsite programs or for assistance with the development, implementation, and/or evaluation of face-to-face and/or technology mediated programs, please contact Alexis Bruce-Staudt at 314/977-8145 or abrucest@slu.edu.
